Two hearts, one passion.
Mum & Dad is a Belgian Tech-House and Minimal Techno duo with a story unlike any other. After more than twenty years in traditional careers, Marie-Pierre and Gerald chose to reinvent themselves completely and dedicate their lives to the music that has been part of their bond since the beginning.
As parents of Lauren, their 18-year-old daughter, they bring a rare sense of maturity, balance and authenticity to the dancefloor. Their sound draws from the groove-driven tech-house and stripped-back minimal scene, blending tight rhythms, crisp textures and warm, hypnotic basslines inspired by labels such as La Zic, Cecille, 081 records, Kinetika Records, …
Known for their precision and instinctive musical storytelling, Mum & Dad deliver fluid, tension-driven sets designed to create connection and keep the dancefloor locked in.
Beyond their artistic project, they created the Mum & Dad Foundation, donating performance fees to support scholarships for students in need, transforming every show into a meaningful act.
With a fast-growing presence and a clear artistic vision, Mum & Dad embody a rare message in today’s scene: it’s never too late to start again!
Read the long bio
Mum & Dad is a Belgian DJ duo whose story stands apart in the electronic landscape. After more than two decades dedicated to careers outside music, Marie-Pierre and Gerald made a radical life choice: leaving their professional paths behind to fully embrace a passion that had accompanied them since their earliest days together, while raising Lauren, their 18-year-old daughter, and building a family life alongside music.
Their sound, rooted in groove-driven Tech-House and stripped-back Minimal Techno, weaves tight rhythms, crisp percussive details and warm, rolling basslines that transform the dancefloor into a space of connection. Influenced by artists such as Cristina Lazic, Andrew Azara, Neverdogs, Poor Pay Rich, … and labels like La Zic, Cecille, 081 records, Kinetika Records, WYLD, …, their music favors flow, subtle tension and hypnotic movement over excess or spectacle. What defines them is not only their musical signature, but the lived experience behind it: a collective courage to reinvent themselves, together, at a moment when most people settle into routine.
Whether they play opening slots or late-night sets, their focus remains the same: precision, groove and a human, dancefloor-oriented warmth, delivered through carefully-crafted selections and an instinctive sense of tension and release, shaped by maturity, balance and emotional intelligence.
Beyond the decks, Mum & Dad channel their project into a broader mission: performance fees are donated to the Mum & Dad Foundation, which provides scholarships to young students who lack financial support. For Mum & Dad, the music scene is not only a place of escape, it is a platform to uplift, redistribute and create opportunities, and to set an example for their daughter through purpose-driven artistry.
With a growing presence on the scene and a clear artistic direction, Mum & Dad are shaping a narrative that resonates far beyond their personal story. Their sets are built with intention, their transitions speak in subtlety, and their music reflects a rare duality: parenthood and nightlife, discipline and freedom, maturity without rigidity, groove without excess, minimalism without coldness.
What drives them is simple yet powerful: a belief that music is a space where people can meet, feel, and be transformed, no matter their age, background or story, and that passion can coexist with responsibility and long-term vision.
For Mum & Dad, every performance is a reminder that reinvention is always possible. And every beat is an invitation to start again…
